Compare med spa software with an evidence-first shortlist

The useful comparison is not a universal winner. It is a small set of candidates that can meet your requirements, with evidence and unanswered questions kept visible.

Use the same profile for each candidate

Begin with provider and location counts, treatment documentation needs, budget and the workflows driving the purchase. Separate requirements from preferences. A lower-cost booking workflow cannot compensate for an essential clinical capability that has not been demonstrated.

The matcher covers Pabau, Boulevard, Mangomint, AestheticsPro, PatientNow, Phorest, Vagaro and Zenoti. This is a defined research set rather than a claim to cover the whole market. Additional platforms may be relevant; do not interpret absence as a poor rating.

Read the capability evidence before the score

The table below uses the site’s dated requirement evidence. “Documented” means a source was mapped in the project and is within its freshness window. “Verify” means the claim is absent, unknown or needs rechecking. Neither label is a hands-on audit or a promise that your quoted plan supports the workflow.

The model uses provisional editorial preference ratings for factors such as operational scale. Those ratings support a shortlist; they are not customer review averages, measured reliability scores or proof of every advertised feature. Required capabilities receive separate treatment.

Choose the next demonstration by the biggest gap

For a clinical practice, begin with the complete treatment record, corrections, photos and any required prescribing or lot-history workflow. For an operations-led purchase, begin with shared-resource booking, membership exceptions and reconciliation. A growing group should test location permissions and report definitions.

Vendor documentation supplies leads for testing. Zenoti describes clinical and multi-location workflows, while PatientNow documents centralized group operations. These are vendor statements about their products, not independently measured superiority. Confirm exact availability and configuration in the proposal.

Compare cost after defining scope

Ask each vendor to quote the same locations, users, modules and expected transaction activity. Include onboarding, training, additional tools and overlap with the existing contract. Public pricing pages are starting points; they can contain plan switches, promotion terms and add-ons.

Use the total-cost tool for two complete proposals. It keeps the recurring charges and transition costs separate. Do not enter a missing fee as zero merely to finish the calculation; request the fee or run a clearly labelled sensitivity case.

Keep the final recommendation independent

We disclose a Boulevard referral link. If a referral qualifies, we may earn compensation. Compensation does not affect rankings. This guide does not assume a referral relationship with any other vendor.

A final choice should identify the requirements proven, the limitations accepted and the work needed before launch. Save the comparison evidence with the quote. If no candidate proves a critical requirement, keep researching instead of treating the highest relative score as an acceptable substitute.

Build your practice-specific comparison

Run the matcher with your current profile, open the evidence behind the shortlist and take unresolved requirements into the demo checklist. Revisit the profile when you add a location or change the treatment mix; the right comparison depends on the work the system must support.

Eight platforms in the current research set

This table reuses the matcher’s evidence model. Evidence ages and plan availability can change; open the matcher for dated source notes and practice-specific gaps.

Sources & editorial approach

Reviewed October 19, 2026. Workflow examples and checklists are original editorial guidance. Vendor documentation describes vendor claims; verify the quoted plan and configuration. Examples are illustrative and do not establish outcomes.

Clinical content describes software evaluation, not treatment protocols. Have the appropriate professionals review clinical and legal requirements for your practice.
